We all see a Financial Advisor from time to time and they predominantly have two fee models:
They don't charge you but take their commission from the financial services provider.
The other being where they charge you on an hourly basis and rebate any commissions generated from the financial services provider.
There are also firms that charge you a fee as well as retaining their commission from the financial provider, which I have personally and unfortunately experienced.
The third which is my financial GP’s model, where you pay a transparent flat fee and here 90% of all initial commission is fully rebated back to the client and where appropriate, renewal commission is retained. These commissions are not only related to financial services products, but mortgage procuration fees are also rebated at this level.
All the services provided by my Financial GP surgeons have been negotiated to be fully discounted and he retains no financial interest in this deal thus maximizing further value. Where you get someone who is genuinely interested in your life and tunes your financial planning accordingly.
